This episode starts us off at Cat's Lair, with the Feliner taking off for another Thundera mission. Luna and Alluro are hiding in the bushes, and Luna is upset that the ThunderCats are constantly on Thundera, and the Lunataks can't follow them, since Sky Tomb doesn't have space capability. Alluro comforts her, telling her that he has created "Booster Juice", pulling out a bottle of purple liquid that proceeds to pop it's cork sky-high.
At Sky Tomb, Alluro proceeds to fill the tanks with the booster juice, and Sky Tomb blazes off into the sky. Shortly thereafter, the Lunataks lose control of Sky Tomb and start hurtling towards the ground: the Booster Juice was too powerful, and is burning out the engines. The only hope is to dump the formula out, and hope for a safe landing. Alluro pulls a switch and the juice goes flowing out of the Sky Tomb, and lands on the meadow underneath, causing the plants to grow like mad. Sky Tomb manages to safely land, and the Lunataks pour out, looking over the landscape, once a peaceful meadow, now a wild jungle. Luna wonders how it grew so much, and Alluro explains the formula must have more powerful properties than he thought. Then a vine suddenly snaps his way, and wraps around his leg. Luna rushes to his aid, and another vine grabs Amok's hand. They manage to work their way free, only to bump into a beetle: it's the size of the ThunderTank! The Lunataks rush back into Sky Tomb, and use the emergency tanks to blast away. Later, inside Sky Tomb, Alluro is upset that his formula backfired, but Luna says he may have actually created a great weapon. All they need to do now is get it in the Mutant's hands...
Near Cat's Lair, Wilykit, Wilykat, and Pumyra are heading out for a picnic. Wilykat is upset that they weren't able to go to Thundera, and Pumyra tells him that someone has to stay and guard Third Earth, and Kit points out that Lion-O also has remained at home, and he doesn't even get to go on a picnic, he's watching the computers all day. They hear a sudden loud noise, and see Slithe and Monkian in the air, with the formula. They spray it, and speed away. Pumyra and the Kittens notice a nearby cave and dive in for cover. The trio stands inside the cave, wondering what the weird rain is about, and they soon get their answer. All around them, plants begin growing at an alarming rate.
Lion-O is working in the lair, when the monitor goes crazy. He looks out over the landscape, and see the Mutants blazing off, their mission accomplished. He then notices the plants, and remembers that Pumyra and the kittens are out there. He runs for the front door, but when it opens, he finds a surprise: The giant beetle has made it's way to the lair! He brandishes the Sword, but it attacks with it's pincers, and he drops it. The beetle then grabs the Sword of Omens and skitters away. The trio meanwhile have left the cave after everything has gotten quiet, and begin making their way through the plant fields towards the lair.
Over at the Tower of Omens, Lynx-O is routinely scanning Third Earth, and picks up some strange signals from the areas around the lair, and he can't seem to get ahold of anyone at the lair either. Snarf says to get the Braile Board and they'll go over in the Thundertank, and off they go. Up in the air, Monkian comments on how well this formula is, he's never seen anything close to it, he's just upset that it's all over already. Slithe says that some fun still remains, however, and points down at Lynx-O and Snarf in the Thundertank just below them. Snarf looks up and sees the Mutants swarming in, and encourages Lynx-O to hurry. Lynx-O remains calm, saying that the Thundertank can outrun them, no problem. The Mutants rain more formula out, and all of a sudden, a plant in front of them turns into a tree, and they ram it head on. Lynx-O is confused, because the road was open, and now it's trees. Lynx-O goes to start up the tank...or at least attempts to. The force of the ramming has completely shorted out the systems of the tank, and the Braile Board. The Mutants come up to them, and with no way to fight back, Lynx-O and Snarf are taken prisoner. The pair are thrown into the dungeon of Castle Plundarr, where they hear a squeaking noise. Upon investigation, they find a tiny mouse, trapped under some fallen rock, which Snarf sets free.
Lion-O, meanwhile, rushes out to find the Sword and the missing ThunderCats, and comes upon a dead end, where he is ambushed by the beetle. The beetle swings at him with the Sword, causing him to leap backwards and into a tree. The vines from the tree come alive, and wrap him up tightly against it, as the beetle comes slashing in. The tree isn't done yet, however, thrashing it's vines wildly at the beetle. The beetle defends itself with the Sword, which the vines take, and they start swinging the Sword back at the beetle. The vines accidentally cut Lion-O free, and he reclaims his blade. He chases the beetle away, thanks the plant, and rushes off to find his friends, who also happen to be heading his way. Pumyra and Wilykit run safely past a venus flytrap plant, but as Wilykat goes by, it gobbles him up. Pumyra pulls out her sling and sends a pellet flying it's way, but the pellet has no effect. Kit urges Pumyra to use a stronger pellet, but Pumyra refuses, saying that anything stronger would hurt Wilykat too. The girls run over and begin trying to pry the leaves apart, but no luck: it's just too strong for them. Pumyra grabs the picnic basket they had been carrying, and smacks the plant upside the head, but even that's not enough. The food that falls out of the basket and onto the ground is, though, and the plant spits out Kat, and snaps up the lunch. As the trio laugh about the circumstances, they don't notice the giant caterpillar making it's way towards them. When it sees them, it spits out some webbing, and ties all three up.
Back at Castle Plundarr, Slithe and Monkian get ready for another assult: The Berbil Village. They head to the dungeons to check on their prisoners, and decide the best thing is take Snarf and Lynx-O with them, and leave them with the Berbils to be devoured by all the giant things that will attack once the Mutants flood the place with booster juice. While they're deciding this though, none of them happen to notice that Monkian's booster juice pack has sprung a leak, and left some on the floor. With the door to the cell wide open, the mouse runs out, and right into the small puddle of booster juice. It goes mad on the Mutants, who take off running, and drop their juice packs to increase their speed. Lynx-O tells Snarf to grab a pack, so they can analyze it and come up with an antidote inside Vultureman's Lab.
Last time we saw Lion-O he was still searching for his friends, and as we meet him again, he is just finding the the threesome, trapped in a cocoon, and hanging from a tree. Lion-O pulls the same trick as the trio, joking that if he sets them free, they won't turn into butterflies, and while he's joking around, the caterpillar sneaks up on him too. It shoots out some webbing that grabs him around the ankle, which he cuts free with the Sword of Omens, which then gets wrapped up, and yanked out of his hand. He grabs it, and the two begin to play tug-of-war over it, but then the caterpillar shoots a second stream of webbing, which gets him around the same ankle again. He pulls the Sword free, and summons the symbol, which Lynx-O and Snarf see, from the inside of Vultureman's Lab.
Snarf wonders if they should should drop everything and run, and Lynx-O says that there is no way they can help Lion-O in a panic, so they need to calm down, and finish the task at hand. Deeper in the Castle, Slithe and Monkian are still having mouse problems. The mouse has gotten the Mutants trapped, so they begin to fight back. The manage to confuse the mouse, and it runs off along a different hallway, and Slithe and Monkian grab a battering ram and begin beating on the locked lab door. Lynx-O reminds Snarf to stay cool, and they continue with their work. Just as Snarf and Lynx-O finish the antidote, the Mutants burst through the door, leaving the ThunderCats with no escape. Then a gigantic shape bursts in behind the Mutants, the mouse has found them, and is just as mad as ever. This gives Snarf enough time to notice a skycutter parked outside, and he opens the window, and he and Lynx-O leap out to freedom. They hop on the lone skycutter and speed off into the sky.
Lion-O is still in battle with the caterpillar, and he's fading fast. And just to make matters worse, the beetle has just found him, and makes it's way in. Trapped on all sides, and worn out, Lion-O appears to be out of luck. Then a Skycutter blazes in, raining more juice. Only this time it's Lynx-O and Snarf with the antidote, shrinking the bugs back to their normal size. Lion-O walks over and thanks Lynx-O and Snarf, and says they should head back to the Lair. Wilykit yells out though, and Lion-O realizes he forgot about them, so he cuts them free.
At the Lair, Lion-O and Lynx-O are relaxing, and watching the monitors, and see that all is back to normal. Pumyra and the Thunderkittens walk in with the antidote, and say that they've gotten all but one small area full of Mutant eating plants, and that's where they left the Skycutters they "borrowed". Everyone has a laugh, then suddenly Panthro's voice rings in over the radio. Lion-O asks how the expedition went, and Panthro says that it went ok, they only managed to find a few things though, but they're planning a return trip soon. And speaking of that trip, Panthro says that the kittens already have booked seats on that flight, but they politely decline, saying that if they do, they'll miss all the exciting stuff that happens here, and everyone laughs, as the episodes so frequently end.
