Tygra, Cheetara and Bengali have returned to the Lair on Third Earth, fresh from a mission to New Thundera. Snarf is curious to catch up on what his pals Eggbert and Oswald are up to as well as if any new Treasure was found.
She shows him a big chest full of treasure they brought back - all sorts of baubles and jewels are within - but one gold bracelet encrusted with sparkly jewels gets Snarf's attention and he asked to "borrow" it for a while. Cheetara sees no harm in that, so off Snarf goes to show it off to Lion-O.
Something strange happens when Snarf actually dons the bracelet. Lion-O's eyes change and he talks in a monotone - and he seems to be at Snarf's command. Later, when Snarf encounters the Kittens, he notices the same phenomenon and has to wonder why everyone is so eager to help him out all of a sudden.
Snarf suspects the bracelet may have something to do with it and seeks out Panthro to test his theory. With the bracelet on, he asks Panthro to jump up and down on one foot three times. Panthro eagerly complies. Then, Snarf takes the bracelet off and asks the same thing - and gets yelled at. That clinches it - Snarf now knows the bracelet gives him power over the Thundercats if he is wearing it.
Snarf decides that perhaps he'll turn the tables on centuries of servitude of the snarf race to the Thundercats race. Unfortunately, Mumm-Ra is eavesdropping via his cauldron and plots to gain this bracelet for himself. Annoyed by a fly buzzing about his pyramid, Mumm-Ra gets inspired to take the guise of the fly to gain entrance to Cats Lair. Mind you, it's a fly with bugged out red eyes and bandages
In the meantime, Snarf is much less king about the new communicators he wanted Lion-O to build when next he asks of them. Lion-O has some more work to do on them, but Snarf berates him for being slow. Snarf has become bossy and rude now that he knows the bracelet will guard him from criticism and repercussions. He orders him to finish the communicators by nightfall.
Mumm-Ra finds his way in the Lair and decides to make a pest out of himself first to have a little fun with his fly disguise. It was fun until Panthro got a good swing in and sent Fly-Ra reeling to the floor, heh heh. He decides to stop fooling around and get what he came for. After locating Snarf, he remains a fly long enough to drive Snarf crazy enough to lose the bracelet (where's a fly swatter when you need one!). This afford Mumm-Ra the chance to transform and take it.
Panthro happened to be looking at the Book of Omens when he spots Snarf's bracelet in it. He can't decipher all the book's warnings on the item, but can gather it packs some major power. The Thundercats are then off to find Snarf to warn him. They run into Mumm-Ra first, who orders them to use the Feliner to take him back to his pyramid.
Snarf is wallowing in his guilt when the Thunderkittens get back from the mission he'd sent them on earlier. They can't believe Mumm-Ra defeated the adult Cats so easily until Snarf explains why. They decide to try to rescue the others.
In the pyramid, the Thundercats are locked in a cell and Lion-O was ordered to give up the Sword to Mumm-Ra. It looks pretty hopeless but Snarf has an idea. He plans to act like he's under the bracelet's spell but hopes it doesn't actually affect him. While he's distracting Mumm-Ra, the Kittens are supposed to free the others and get the Sword back, which should be easy seems how Mumm-Ra tossed it aside carelessly (doh!)
An amusing bit about Snarf's old war wound from the Great Snarf Rebellion (42-47 haha) ensues as he stalls Mumm-Ra for time.
Mumm-Ra rests in his sarcophagus and Snarf waits for him to fall asleep to go inside and take the bracelet back. Once it's slipped off the mummy's wrist, the Thundercats snap out of the spell and Lion-O takes the Sword back from Kat. Snarf, however, is in trouble because Mumm-Ra is roused from sleep and not too happy.
Lion-O uses the sword to break free from the cell and again to defeat Mumm-Ra and trap him in the same cell. Back at the Lair, Snarf apologizes for his abuse of power but the Thundercats are very forgiving.
Fave Quotes:

"I might as well do some annoying while I'm here." - Mumm-ra, as a fly inside the Lair.
"I've got the upper hand, my wish is their command!" - Snarf gloating in sing-song tones.
"I hope you find your accommodations miserable and uncomfortable, slaves." - Mumm-Ra to the imprisoned Thundercats.
"Go outside and chase some Berbils!" - Mumm-Ra's command to Ma-Mutt.
"I was a commando, you know. My hands are lethal weapons." - Snarf, of his time served in war.
"Let me get my beauty sleep." - Mumm-Ra, who must never sleep heh heh.
