Lynxana: The Hunter
Age: By the time she enters my fic, she's about 35. Sex: Female Species/Race: Thunderian Lynx Alliance: Good Guy. No, really. Appearance: See Picture. Weapons/Skills/Powers: She is indeed the same Lynxana from the old comics, and I thought she would make a good addition to the story as a different take on the "ThunderCat gone rogue" trope. Grune brought that to the story in one way, now she will pick it up in a different way - moreso in the upcoming Era 3, of course, as that's where it really gets into the New Thundera story lines. But it will be obvious why the idea that the ThunderCat nobles could still be out there really grinds her gears. Lynxana would love to leave them in the past, along with their traditions. New world, new rules. The comic established Lynxana as strong, brave, capable - everything it takes to be a ThunderCat. And she indeed has these skills on top of being a rugged survivor, just like the other ThunderCats. As of the writing of this profile, it is uncomfirmed whether she spent her time in exile as a bounty hunter or if that was just a rumor/legend. We shall see. She would have certainly been capable of it with her strength and wit. Her weapons include her ray gun and whatever tricks she has in her pack. Background: Her background, as the Marvel comics established, remains in the story up to a point. As stated in the comics' profile page for Lynxana here, SITS keeps true to the idea that she had proven herself worthy of the ThunderCat title but her brother was still chosen over her, causing her to rebel (in a future chapter, this will be explored in detail, SITS-style). Claudus indeed exiled her to space. Where my characterization of her diverges is at the part where the comics have her on Third Earth trying to help the Mutants capture the ThunderCats. Instead, in SITS, she ends up helping wandering refugees settle the destination planet they dubbed New Thundera. Lynxana is among the leaders on this new world, her natural leadership, grit and survival instincts being what the survivors needed to thrive. If the nobles then do find their way "home", how will this play out with Lynxana? She loves her people but there is certainly no love lost between her and the elite nobles that banished her. Lynxana is not likely to give up her earned place as a leader easily... |
