WB Summary:
On the run from the unstoppable lizard army, Lion-O fears for his life. While hiding, he encounters a race of creatures who live out their entire lifetime in 24 hours, and learns a valuable lesson about hope. Plus, the highly anticipated debut of Panthro and the Thundertank!
Purrsia's Synopsis:
The lizards, led by Slithe, are on the ThunderCats' trail. Meanwhile, Lion-O is still having some issues dealing with everything he has lost, lamenting it can all be gone in the blink of an eye. When they realize the entire lizard army is on their trail, Lion-O orders a retreat from a situation that "hopeless". Once again, Tygra and Lion-O are at odds regarding leadership choices.
They come upon some thick brambles, and Lion-O leads his crew there for cover. Within the brambles, they encounter a whole culture of tiny beings called the Petalars, who - they come to learn - live their entire life in the span of one day.
One Petalar in particular, Emrick, edears himself to the Thundercats as they get to know him throughout the episode - and throughout his lifecycle - as they help his people reach their dream of returning home. They learn from him new lessons about what it means to live a full life and have hope.
In the meantime, Slithe catches up to them at the briar. At first, he sends his henchmen in to flush them out - the brambles being too thick to waste time on with their equipment. But later, after the Petalars give a successful assist to the ThunderCats against the surprise attack of the henchmen, Slithe decides fire is a better option to get his prey.
The fire is good for the Petalars - it creates and updraft which they are able to ride out of the tangled briars and ride home. The Thundercats are left behind with a bigger predicament. Keep running, or go out fighting. Lion-O decides it's time to fight.
They do well at first, but it's soon obvious the odds aren't in their favor. The Thundercats say to each other what sounds like parting sentiments before the lizards' war machines finish them. But wait! Yes indeed, Panthro shows up in the ThunderTank. Oh hell yeah!
The Thundercats live to fight - and quest - another day.
Quotes:
"Hope comes from action. Isn't that what father told us?" - Tygra
"Enjoy your childhood. Trust me, you'll miss it when it's gone." - Lion-O to young Emrick
"As the ancient Thunderian philosopher said, 'Time is relative'." - Cheetara
"If the map is meant to lead us into every single thorn bush in the briar, then YES we're doing great." - Tygra's sarcasm regarding their progress in finding the Petalars' way home.
"What's the point of it all? Kingdoms rise and fall. Lifetimes come and go. Are any of us here even long enough to make a difference?" - Lion-O
"Are expendable, as are you, Lieutenant. Now, do as I command!" - Slithe, ordering the briar woods burned to the ground with some of his own troops still inside.
"Is that all hope is then? An illusion?" - Lion-O
"In the end, what matters is not how long we've lived, but how fully we've lived. The good we've done, the friends we've made. The love we shared along the way. It's the journey, Lion-O. Remember that." - Emrick's parting words.
"Do you have a taste for roast cat?" - Slithe to his Lieutentant.
"My service to the crown has alawys been a cherished privelege." - Cheetara.

Facts of Note:
Cheetara/Lion-O shippers are happy I'm sure at the almost-moment they had by the campfire. That darn Snarf! lol!
If only the lizards had packed their Benadryl, the Petalars wouldn't have thwarted the sneaky trio with their flying pollen tricks.

Classic Compare/Contrast:
This epsiode definitely maintained the classic show's "moral of the day" feel, but in a way more touching than any of the OS ever delivered. The meaning of life, the meaning of hope...pretty deep subjects handled well here. Nice!
During this show, Lion-O did the classic sword swing sequence, the artwork and movements an obvious homage to the OS - and we also see the classic signal go up in the sky for the first time in this series too! Just like old times!
Speaking of old times (literally), Slithe envokes his classic speech patterns here, yesssss?

Purrsia's Two Cents:
The Thunderkittens continue to be cute and more child-like than ever. The scene where Kat talks Kit into kissing the Froog and then teasing her about it was amusing indeed.
The little jokes throughout regarding the Petalars and their short life-cycle (re: Emrick stating Lion-O "never stopped looking for him" for what to Lion-O was like 10 minutes LOL etc) was cute, too.
This ep had humor, sentiment, and some kick-butt action at the end. Truly something for everyone.
